Midland Gems Eileen Mason FBIPP runs a hugely successful portrait studio in the midlands with her husband Bill Mason. Established 40 years ago, they employ 24 Staff and last year turned over 1.2 million. From Local Government to Local Award Winner Ray Kearney’s LBIPP entry to the world of professional photography is typical of many BIPP members, “ I was given an ultimatum many years ago; either give up a very expensive hobby or make some money out of it, this is the story of my quest”. Ray has won numerous regional awards, including wedding photographer of the year and portrait photographer of the year. This will be a very informative talk especially for anyone thinking of ‘going professional’.

Seeing the light Ian Southerin LBIPP has won many awards regionally, including North West Photographer of the Year. Ian will be showing us how to balance daylight and flash on location, using flash as a fill in, and using flash for a dramatic effect. In addition you will learn how to use flash to hide messy backgrounds in industrial situations.
